Mais um dia de feira / Another day of fair
No último fim de semana (6-7), participei da Foto Feira Cavalete #6, no Museu da Imagem e do Som (MIS), em São Paulo. Foi a minha segunda vez no papel de fotógrafo/expositor na feira, com uma "barraca" bacana, na entrada de um dos museus mais agitados e bem frequentados do Brasil. Programa imperdível na capital paulista! Novamente, eu e meu amigo Thierry Rios dividimos a mesa coberta de fotografias de viagem - cidades, paisagens e retratos dos cinco continentes - e outros ensaios, sempre com uma boa história pra contar...
Os dois dias de feira - das 10h às 20h - foram intensos, produtivos e muito divertidos, desde a organização até a hora de apagar as luzes. Sem dúvida, superou as nossas expectativas! Reencontramos bons amigos, conhecemos novos fotógrafos, descobrimos alguns clientes e compartilhamos nossa paixão pela fotografia. Além disso, aproveitamos as horas e horas em frente ao MIS para visitar as exposições do tradicional "Mês da Fotografia", com destaque para "Farida, um conto sírio" - mostra inédita sobre a imigração de milhões de refugiados e suas famílias da África e Oriente Médio rumo às fronteiras da Europa. As imagens fortes e emocionantes são do fotógrafo brasileiro Mauricio Lima, vencedor do Pulitzer em 2016 - prêmio máximo do jornalismo.
Eu já conhecia uma parte do trabalho do Mauricio como fotojornalista, mas ver de perto uma exposição completa, com a narrativa, a intimidade e o drama de uma das famílias de imigrantes sírios é completamente diferente e raro! E, saindo da exposição, a surpresa foi ver o Mauricio circulando e curtindo a Feira Cavalete entre nós!

Last weekend (6-7), I participated in Photo Fair Cavalete #6, at the Museum of Image and Sound (MIS), in São Paulo. It was my second time in the role of photographer / exhibitor at the fair, with a nice "tent", at the entrance of one of the most agitated and well frequented museums in Brazil. A must see in São Paulo! Again, my friend Thierry Rios and I shared the table covered with travel photographs - cities, landscapes and portraits of the five continents - and other essays, always with a good story to tell...
The two days of fair - from 10 am to 8 pm - were intense, productive and very fun, from the organization until the time to turn out the lights. Without a doubt, it exceeded our expectations! We've met good friends, new photographers, discovered some clients and shared our passion for photography. In addition, we took advantage of the hours and hours in front of the MIS to visit the traditional "Month of Photography" exhibitions, highlighting "Farida, a Syrian tale" - an unprecedented exhibition on the immigration of millions of refugees and their families from Africa and Middle East to the borders of Europe. The strong and exciting images were from the Brazilian photographer Mauricio Lima, winner of the Pulitzer in 2016 - the maximum prize of journalism.
I already knew a part of Mauricio's work as a photojournalist, but seeing so close a complete exhibition with the narrative, intimacy and drama of one of the Syrian immigrant families was completely different and rare! And, leaving the exhibit, the surprise was to see Mauricio hanging around and enjoying the Cavalete Fair between us!
